Social Work Activities

Keeping aglow, the vision of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, our founder father who opened the portals of education, we are engaged in charitable & educational activities.Here we enlist few activities which are carried out through our School.

BambhoriVillage:-Avila Tuition classes:-

The demands of the 21st century require a new approach to education to fully prepare students for career and citizenship. Keeping this objective in mind “Avila” coaching centre was initiated in the year 2006.“Avila” Tuition class is located 15kms away from Jalgaon City. It is conducted in 2 classes in Z.P. school with a strength of 45 students from classes 1st to 5th and 35 students from classes 6th to 8th.Avila free tuition center of Bambhori village is continued even today with 90 students who are from under developed government school. As a result, the pass percentage in class tenth is increased from 55 % to 90%.

Remand Home Service

Sowing seeds of hope into young minds and hearts, the children at the observation homes are equipped with education by our Sisters and teachers. Initiated 15 years ago by the manager of our school Sr. Pavithra, still continues with tireless devotion and enthusiasm of our sisters and teachers. On every Saturday and Sunday evening from 4:00pm to 5:00pm the team of our sisters and 14 teachers is present at the remand home to render their service.
The boys and girls sections are dealt separately by the teachers.These children need constant support and motivation which is provided by our team. The children are given individual attention and care and are given support in formal education for their overall development.
Efforts are made to promote and develop attachment towards the school; the management celebrated ‘Raksha Bandhan’ with the remand home students. The girls of STD IX tied Rakhi to the boys of the remand home and a gift was also given to the boys, thus creating a bonding and also helps them to understand the importance of relationship.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

Blood donation isthemost kindhearted initiative in saving life of others. Voluntary blood donation is the pillar of adequate and safe blood donation. In the month of December, blood donation camp is arranged every year by our School.More than 125donors are contributed voluntarily every year thus becoming real superheroes and helping in saving a life.
Donors donate their blood happily, saying they want to save lives. The requirement for blood donation is increasing day by day. St. Teresa’s Convent Higher Secondary School acted as a helping hand to construct a more concerned society where various donors donate blood for helping injured or needy people. Life is precious and so is being a life – saver.

Auto rickshaw Drivers Association

The 98members Auto rickshaw Drivers Association is still continued in the school with objective of comprehensive development of Auto rickshaw drivers who bring children to our school. At least twice a year they gather together to organize awareness classes and various competition to showcase their creativity. In case of emergency, we do extend financial assistance to them.

Support for the Flood Relief activities

The flood fury was intense and wreak havoc. Kerala &Kolhapur had been hit with heavy rains causing flooding in major regions. The flood affected people, needed help for their basic needs, medical help etc. At this time of need our School contributed Rs.5,00,000/- to support the people of Kerala and Rs 42,000 towards the FLOOD RELIEF FUND at Kolhapur, Maharashtra, thus providing help and support to the families affected in the situation.
